One of the sport’s legit superstars, former world champion Carl Morris’s rise through the ranks was nothing short of meteoric.
Left profoundly deaf and without speech through a childhood illness, Houdini’s world was turned upside down.
Pool was Carl’s saviour; rescuing him from a life of isolation, giving him direction and purpose – ultimately leading to a career. Representing the men’s county team at the mere age of 14, within three years Carl had turned professional. By 18 he was an international and by 21 had achieved the status of becoming the youngest-ever world champion – a record that still stands to this day.
